3d printed concrete slab
Universität der Künste Berlin
The ceiling system is 3D printed from concrete and directly used without any post-processing. The system is developed as a load-bearing structure. Inspired by Pierre Luigi Nervi's credo that the construction should be carried out on site with the least possible technical effort, a simple and modular system was designed. The reference for the chosen load-bearing system is the cap ceiling. Each arch element is divided into three modules, which are pre-stressed on site in two carrier profiles with the tension rod. These can then be placed as one element on four support points. The design can be adapted to any context in length, width and shape. The support system is parametrically developed in Grasshopper and Karamba, so that any form or shape can be analyzed and evaluated for printing.
