Normal science does not aim at novelties of fact or theory and, when successful, finds none. New and unsuspected phenomena are, however, repeatedly uncovered by scientific research, and radical new theories have again and again been invented by scientists. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The practice of normal science depends on the ability, acquired from exemplars, to group objects and situations into similarity sets which are primitive in the sense that the grouping is done without an answer to the question, “Similar with respect to what?” One central aspect of any revolution is, then, that some of the similarity relations change. Objects that were grouped in the same set before are grouped in different ones afterward and vice versa. Think of the sun, moon, Mars, and earth before and after Copernicus; of free fall, pendular, and planetary motion before and after Galileo; or of salts, alloys, and a sulpuhur-iron filing mix before ceramic vessels preserve and process food in a natural and resourceful way and limit the waste of food. Therefore certain environments for different methods such as storage, fermentation, drying and steaming are created and combined. Through experimentation with different bio–materials such as anti–microbial moss, birch, or earth material in form of clay we developed a variable system that helps food processing and aims to awaken the interest in interacting with that topic. The conflict cost thousands of lives and hundreds of thousands of civilians and especially children were displaced. Due to the wish of the Buddhistic monks of the Sri Bodhiraja Foundation, an orphanage was designed, planned and realized by students of the Technical University Munich. The core of the design can be seen in the protective circular shape of the building, which provides a secure feeling of a new home. At the same time this allows to communicate with the landscape around due to its three community areas which structure and reconnect the building with its surrounding. The construction succeeded within eight weeks and was concluded with the completion of the roof and the development of one window prototype. After a ceremony followed by a party with the surrounding villagers, local supervisors and workers were left with instructions for the completion of the interior. Both the objects and the light source can be arbitrarily changed and moved by means of different rotation mechanisms and therefore interact differently with the light source. The aim of this project is to study the effects and relationships of light, material, and motion, as well as to unify its natural properties, such as reflection, shadow, refraction, and color within one single object. The system is developed as a load-bearing structure. Inspired by Pierre Luigi Nervi's credo that the construction should be carried out on site with the least possible technical effort, a simple and modular system was designed. The reference for the chosen load-bearing system is the cap ceiling. Each arch element is divided into three modules, which are pre-stressed on site in two carrier profiles with the tension rod. These can then be placed as one element on four support points. The design can be adapted to any context in length, width and shape.
